Oh my.
We just came back from the birthday party to end all birthday parties. A joint celebration for four kids in Athena's class with over 30 children in attendance. One of the kids celebrating was Nick. The little five year old that Athena can not stop talking about.
It was a circus themed party - there was a bounce house, jugglers, gymnasts, corn dogs, popcorn machine, craft table, clown noses for all, four ornately decorated theme cakes and personalized handmade clown costumes for each kid celebrating a birthday. (Side note: Nick had a Darth Vader cake and Star Wars themed clown outfit, so he's pretty cool). The amount of time, energy and money that went into this party could have rebuilt half of New Orleans.
Athena was by far the youngest child there, and clung to me for the first twenty minutes. But soon adapted to the noise and the running and the chaos. She had a great time and I met some very nice parents. But man, whew, don't want to do that everyday.
I didn't take that many photos, because the professional photographer was pretty much handling that, but here's what I did get.

next to her so I could take a picture.
"Oh Mom!"

Wow. What a party. Athena is so cute with her little crush!!
Oh my is right! But it looks like fun.
Now that's a party!!! I think I would need a full day to recover from something like that.
Athena is a doll, especially around the Handsome Nick. :)
Wow, can I be part of Nick's group?
And Athena being all "Aww shucks" shy is adorable. She certainly saves her outgoing self for the family
Wow!! Perfect title...birthday bash!! Looks like they spent more than I did on my wedding :) HEEE HEEE
