Holiday Portraits = Fail

Some may remember my struggles with getting a decent holiday photo last year. Well this year I seem to be having the same issue. The above photo is about as good as it got this time around.

Why oh why can't I get both my children to look at the camera at the same time while not making a face or crying because the other one is touching them?! How do other people do it?

This is how it started.
"Um, Zoe, can you scoot closer to your sister please?"
"Nooo! She's touching me!"
"Okay." *readjust*
"Let's try this again. Look at Mommy and smile!"
"Zoe try not to smile that much!
And Athena WHAT are YOU doing!
"
"Please stop yelling Mommy."
"I'm outta here."
"Fine. We'll just take individual shots."
"Athena, can you please try to smile?"
And then, of course, the one time I had them both smiling and laughing and looking at the camera, I pressed "video" instead of "photo."
*sigh*

Maybe we need to go to Walmart this year.

Hahahaha! May I suggest bribery? I paid BubTar a dollar this year to be cooperative and give his sister a kiss. LOL!

I suggest you hire your brother (aka professional candid photographer) My rate is 1 beer every hour and some cookies.
I like "Stop Yelling Mommy" it has a certain aura about it. lol Good luck Julie!

I was working on the same thing today! The best holiday pictures I ever did myself where when they were 9 months old...but they were easier to "pose" back then!

look at the third photo down from the top- the lights in the fireplace or something make both girls look they are angels complete with halos over their heads!

I'm with Laura! That is the first thing I noticed...the HALO each girl had above their head!

P.S. I so feel your pain on this entire subject!

these are great...I think I would be tempted to just choose one of these. It definitely shows personality.

I do really like #3...for the simple fact that it looks like they have halos above their head...at first I thought that it was really there, and then I realized that none of the other photos had it (finally noticing that it was the fireplace).

Yes, bribery works wonders!!! Cute shots anyway!!

I saw the halos too!

You could go with the pouting photo and have a cute caption about no Santa or no gifts for little girls who don't pose for pictures LOL

This post cracked me up, mainly because I can sympathize so well. We spent 2 days trying to get a 'perfect Christmas picture'. It was disastrous!
