Family Day

We had a lovely Sunday and family day today. Our family days have become so precious with Chris working and traveling so much. But not today, no work, no travelling just the four of us together. So we all got up early and went to try out a new church that is in our soon-to-be new neighborhood. We had such high hopes walking in there. Great children's room, friendly people, lovely space. But, unfortunately, the congregation was a bit too...uh..."spirited" for us and the pastor was kind of scary. We'll keep looking and we might give it one more chance because it did have potential. Afterwards we were starving, so a pancake lunch was in order and then a trip to see "Beverly Hills Chihuahua." Chris and the girls have been singing the song "Doo dewt-dewt-dee-dewt...Chihuahua" for a month now so we were all excited to go. This is only the second movie Zoe has ever been to and the first one we had to leave before it finished. Movies seem to hold her attention for about 20 minutes then she wants to run around the theater. Chris and I took turns taking her out to the lobby for short breaks which made the film a bit patchy for us however the storyline was pretty easy to follow. Athena loved it. She wants a chihuahua, by the way, for her birthday (that's your fault, Nana!)

Then we came home and I snapped this picture. Poor Chris must watch the playoffs while having tea and picnics on the floor. Ah, the life of a Daddy with girls.

Cute pictures - great day! I love the football-watching tea party. And thanks for mentioning the chihuahua movie - I have been wanting to take Lainey to another movie soon and was thinking we had to wait for Madgascar 2 ... this one sounds perfect though!

KayTar still hasn't been to a movie! We tried Ice Age 2 when she was younger, but we had to leave immediately...she had major sensory issues with all the lights and noise.

Looks like a fun day! I'm cracking up about Chris's football tea party!

I hope you find a new church that you love. :)

OH- and I think you should get Athena a chihuhahua, haha!

Chris is such a sport! I love to see him playing tea party with his girls.

And yay for a fun family day, too bad about the church, though.

Sounds like a nice day! You husband is a good daddy! I can always tell in the pictures you post of him with the girls. We should get our girls together to play. Sarah is sick right now, but hopefully in the next couple days she will be better. We haven't been to a park playdate in a while - just too much going on. Hopefully, we will get back involved soon.

Also, I would love it if you visited our church - it's not near your new house, but it's not a bad drive at all - 10 minutes, maybe a little more. Once a month or so, we do not actually meet in our facility, we go out in the community and do a service project - that is this coming Sunday. We will be helping League of Dreams (a sports league for handicapped children) with their opening day celebration. The following week we will be back at American Kids with a regular church service.
