We're home and just getting used to the rhythms and needs of a new baby. Every baby is so completely different and we have so much to learn all over again. I almost cried about eight times today, mostly because I'm really hormonal, but also because Zoe and Athena peered over the bassinet and sang "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" to John Patrick and then when the girls snuggled with me and the little guy and I had all my babies in my arms at once and then when I realized Chris had eaten all the chocolate chip cookies*. There is craziness here right now, but a hundred little tender moments too.
(And yes that is a pacifier in his mouth. I have always been happy that neither of the girls wanted a pacifier, but what can I say, every baby is different.)
* Chris would like me to add that he did make me homemade French fries.

Those first days are so sweet and tender, aren't they? Enjoy them now because they sadly don't last long enough!
Has any one noticed that the stock market has gone up steadily ever since JP was born? Is this a coincidence? I dont think so.
Chris ate ALL the chocolate chip cookies??? I think I would cry a bit too.
Glad to hear you are home and settling in.
I can't believe he ate all the cookies. Shame, shame.
Are you guys calling him John Patrick/JP?
Happy to hear you are all home safe and doing as well as can be expected. Sounds like Athena and Zoe already know how to be the best big sisters in the world (runs in the family). And Chris should know better than to eat the last of anything containing chocolate with girls in the house. Give him a lil' smack!
I would cry too if all the cookies were gone! Really Chris...respect the hormones! =)
And pacifiers are a lifesaver. JMO. Carry on!
=) Diane
So adorable and sweet!!!
Oh Julie, those pictures are just precious. And you had ME getting all emotional until I read about the cookies and laughed. What's he thinking, eating all the cookies?! Never mess with a hormonal woman!
Congratulations once again...your family is perfect.
I'm glad you're home, I'm glad he's taking a pacifier. I think they're fantastic, personally and pushed them on my own kids. *snicker*
Man, eating all the chocolate chip cookies, though? That is just low. You're a breastfeeding mom. :)
Congratulations to all of you! The pictures are so sweet, especially of Athena and Zoe getting to know their new little brother.
Has Grandpa John been out to meet little John Patrick yet?
Congrats again!
Your cousin Amy
P.S. We are expecting one too! Due August 1st.
